    Lego Masters

, finally won on Tuesday January 12 by David and Sébastien.

  • Their latest work, which required twenty-four hours of work, will be exhibited at the Necker-Enfants Malades hospital.

  • "The nights are very studious, and sometimes we do not sleep," says Sébastien to

    20 Minutes

They stacked tens of thousands of bricks.

After four weeks of competition, David and Sébastien won the final of the first season of

Lego Masters

.

They therefore share the sum of 20,000 euros and will see their ultimate structure on display at the Necker-Enfants Malades hospital.

A real pride for Sébastien, whom

20 Minutes

interviewed a few hours before the broadcast of the last episode on M6.

Her buddy, David, couldn't join the conversation due to college exams.

Six months after your win, you can finally tell everyone you've won!

Relieved?

It is completely a relief.

They harass me: the baker, the pharmacist, the cashier of Leclerc, everyone harasses me!

I notice that there are plenty of people of all ages watching the show and everyone is trying to find out, to sort out the true from the false.

Even with a mask and a cap, everyone recognizes me, it's amazing.

Who knew about your victory?

None of my relatives know it, even my friends within my association because I wanted to surprise them.

We watch the show together every Tuesday, so I'll be sneaking up on the cup in the trunk of the car, it'll be a surprise.

For you who are passionate, what does this represent?

I am very proud because I loved the program, I followed it in Australia and the United States.

We knew the foreign versions and we all knew that we shouldn't plagiarize or be inspired.

We really had to tap into our own imaginations and it was a pleasure to challenge ourselves like this.

I was too happy that there was a French version and winning season 1 is still significant.

Me, who loves challenges and competitions, it's a pleasure.

It's just Lego and bricks left, but it's rewarding.

We imagine that this adventure has strengthened your ties with David ...

We met because he had his little success thanks to his little mechanical arm on social networks.

I, who created a magazine about Lego fans,

Bricks Mag

, wanted to interview him because I thought he was a great boy.

I interviewed him and we became friends by video or e-mails, virtual friends, let's say.

We met on the set two days before.

We approached the events as a mystery pair with our two characters.

We have learned to manage them.

Now, we exchange a lot more often and we are looking for joint projects from a Lego point of view.

We're looking for things to do together, him in his technical part and me in my more creative part.

It might be nice to suggest something else in the future.

What was the highlight of your adventure?

The victory because we didn't necessarily expect it, we were with other good pairs.

We really didn't expect it, it shows by the reaction we had.

It's either that or the barbecue failure (

).

The pig held on all along and at the last moment, we wanted to change direction and it didn't work in the other direction.

We should have changed our story, to say that he had been beheaded by a bad cook.

The bridge was fun to do, the explosions too… What a good time after all!

The tests were spread over several days ... We imagine that the reflection continued even when you were not on the set?

We are very studious when we return to the hotel, we give each other thorough briefings.

Sometimes the nights are short because we think about what we have done, what we should do, how long we have left to do it.

The nights are very studious, and sometimes we don't sleep.

There are issues of timing, of victory.

The more we advanced in the competition, the shorter the nights were because we were asking ourselves so many questions.

It is really the desire to do well.

We pushed the cursor to the maximum.

Is it a real marathon with real preparation then?

It's very physical, especially the bridge where we barely had ten hours to make a two-meter-long bridge with a lot of bricks.

It's very physical because we put a lot of ourselves, we run everywhere.

It's also very cerebral because we think with a time behind, with the pressure of the cameras, journalists who are always there to make us speak.

We especially put pressure on ourselves, that's why we cry a lot for not much but for the desire to do well.

We get caught up in the game, we forget the cameras, we do our construction thoroughly.

It was very exhausting morally and physically.

We were all together 24 hours a day with the team, the production, all the other pairs and after a month, all of a sudden, we go home, we are alone because we can not say anything , we are in the secret.

How did you divide the sum of 20,000 euros with David and what will you do with your earnings?

We split it in two, and I'm going to invest a lot of it in my magazine and do more articles for the Lego fan community.

The association is closed because of the Covid-19 but I have messages from all the members who are very impatient to come back.

On the other hand, the show boosted our magazine.

We are not yet overwhelmed by the hundreds of orders, but that gives us good visibility and we are delighted because we are volunteers, we created the company a year ago so it is not easy.
