Heiko Maas once said that he went into politics “because of Auschwitz”.
It is all too clear that, like all of us, the cold horror overcame him on January 6th.
But with the idea of a “Marshall Plan” for America, Maas has gotten lost.
It is completely absurd to compare the situation in the USA after Trump with that in Germany after Hitler.
Anyone who went into politics “because of Auschwitz” should do one thing first: learn to differentiate and show humility in the process.
