Tragic disappearance on January 10, 2021, of footballer Christopher Maboulou.

The 30-year-old midfielder has died of cardiac arrest, his latest club, Thonon Evian GG FC (5th division) confirmed.

AS Nancy-Lorraine, whose Franco-Congolese wore the colors in 2018-2019, specifies that the tragedy occurred during a match between friends.

Born in the Paris region, Christopher Maboulou revealed himself in Châteauroux (2009-2014) and especially in Bastia (2014-2016).

His career had already been interrupted by heart problems, following a discomfort that arose during training.

In July 2011, he was even declared unfit to play football.

Convened in vain by Congo for CAN 2015

Christopher Maboulou had, however, resumed two seasons later in Châteauroux, before heading to Corsica.

With the Bastia jersey, he had achieved some great performances during the 2014-2015 financial year.

To the point of convincing Claude Le Roy, then coach of the national team of Congo-Brazzaville, to bring him in.

Convened for the 2015 African Cup of Nations, Christopher Maboulou had however been removed from the list, because of too long a delay in the gathering of the Red Devils.

A few months later, he left for Greece, on the side of PAS Giannina (2016-2017).

His only experience abroad.
