In the debate about the right measures against the corona pandemic, employer President Rainer Dulger warns of further restrictions for companies.

“That's absurd.

You can't close all businesses, ”he told the“ Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung ”.

Previously, Thuringia's Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (left) had called for a lockdown for the economy in the MDR, Green parliamentary leader Katrin Göring-Eckardt urged the Funke media group to have the right to work from home wherever possible.

"We have to keep people in their bread and work as well as possible, protected from pandemics," said Dulger.

Only with added value could the social systems that currently supply everyone be kept alive.

He sees the responsibility for full offices in part with the employees.

"Today I observe at least one trend among my employees who are working in the office that after a long period at home they like to come back to the company to see their colleagues again - only at a distance, but at least", he said.

The companies had achieved a lot in terms of infection protection, said Dulger.

But there is already a disproportionality between overcrowded ski slopes and closed shops.

He demanded that politics should include the social partners in future decisions about corona measures.

It must also be about a long-term strategy, he said.

"The money that we are currently losing has to be earned again." Politicians should not always make new demands on companies.

Instead, social contributions should be capped at 40 percent of the wage bill and the retirement age should be raised.
