As the coming-of-age ceremony was canceled or postponed one after another due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, Mashiko Town, Tochigi Prefecture, held a ceremony that shortened the time after having the new adult undergo a PCR test in advance.

On the 10th, 113 new adults attended the ceremony held in the hall of Mashiko Town.

Mashiko-cho paid the cost and had them undergo a PCR test in advance, and all of them were confirmed to be negative.

The one-hour ceremony every year was shortened to 20 minutes without greetings from guests, and new adult representative Masashi Ikeda said, "While the corona disaster has changed the ordinary life, my hometown sent me an ale today. I would like to move forward as a new starting line. "

Family members who could not enter the venue watched the ceremony on the screen outside the hall.

A woman attending a university in Chiba Prefecture said, "I heard that it might be postponed, but I'm glad it was held safely. I want to become an intelligent adult from now on."

In Tochigi Prefecture, in addition to Mashiko Town, Otawara City held a ceremony on the 3rd of this month, while the remaining 23 cities and towns were canceled or postponed, and two of them were only photographed.
