(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) 31 new confirmed cases in Hong Kong confirmed by captain of Hong Kong and Kowloon Ferry

  China News Service, Hong Kong, January 10 (Reporter Han Xingtong) The Health Protection Center of the Department of Health of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced on the 10th that there were 31 new confirmed cases in Hong Kong.

A Hong Kong and Kowloon ferry captain was diagnosed that day and three crew members were initially diagnosed.

  Among the new cases, 3 were imported cases, 28 were local cases, including 9 cases of unknown origin, and 19 related cases.

There are also more than 30 preliminary confirmed cases.

  Among the related cases, there was a confirmed case of the Central Kowloon Route Tunnel Project yesterday, adding 6 more confirmed cases.

  The case of unknown origin involved a captain of the Hong Kong and Kowloon ferry. Later, when the authorities followed up, three more crew members were initially diagnosed.

Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health, Zhang Chukjun, said that the captain was mainly responsible for several routes, including Central to Peng Chau and Yung Shue Wan, and Tsuen Wan to the airport's three-run site.

  An employee of the Summer Palace Elderly Care Center in Hung Hom had a preliminary diagnosis.

Zhang Zhujun said that due to the small number of night shifts, this employee has to take care of more elders. 31 residents on the second floor of the nursing center are listed as close contacts and need to be evacuated and sent to the quarantine center; another 15 employees are required to be quarantined.

  According to the Hong Kong epidemic special website, one more confirmed patient passed away, and the total number of deaths in Hong Kong increased to 158.

  The Chief Administrative Manager (Medical Effectiveness and Technology Management) of the Hong Kong Hospital Authority, Yu Huiling, stated that there are currently 601 confirmed patients in 23 public hospitals and Asia Expo community treatment facilities. Among them, 39 are in critical condition, 44 are in serious condition, and the rest 518 people are in stable condition.
