The documents included a rare photo of the Al Hosn Palace in Abu Dhabi, taken by the American traveler and researcher Samuel Zwemer in 1901, and the palace is a living witness to the history of the UAE capital, and its construction dates back to more than 250 years, and is classified as one of the most important national and architectural monuments in the country, and it was the seat of the family of Al Nahyan, the ruler, and a symbol of the emergence, development and historical legacy of Abu Dhabi, as well as his influence as a center for social life and a beacon for the cultural and tourism movement in Abu Dhabi.

The second of the holdings is a rare manuscript by Vasco de Gama dating back to 1498, providing a detailed description of the economic, cultural, social and political influence of the Portuguese in both the Middle East and the Far East.

In addition to a copy of the prototype of the "Cantino" map of the Earth's surface dating back to the year 1502 in which the new discoveries were recorded, which the Portuguese made at that time.

The publications of the National Archives cover several historical aspects, and they came in the form of encyclopedias and memories of the travelers who passed through the region, and the journeys of the great leaders who left their eternal mark in the nation’s history through their achievements, foremost among them the founding leader the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul.

As part of its digital transformation strategy, the National Archives established the Arab Gulf Digital Archive, AGDA, which is an archive created on the Internet to display historical and cultural materials that tell the story of the rich and accurate history of a region of the Arabian Gulf.
