Earlier, the Hydrometeorological Center explained that the upcoming winter frosts and the establishment of a climatic norm were caused by the flow of Arctic air into the European part of Russia.

This was announced on January 9 by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand.

According to him, in the northern and European part of Russia, the weather will return to the winter regime.

“This will be connected with the opening of the gates for the entry of northern air masses.

Until now, the truly arctic air practically did not reach the center of Russia.

Now air will finally begin to flow from the Arctic, "- quoted by TASS Vilfand.

According to the forecaster, the cold snap began on January 9, and on Sunday the temperature reached the climatic norm.
