The government has decided to require everyone entering the country to submit a pre-departure inspection certificate until the state of emergency is lifted.

The government plans to strengthen border measures in response to the declaration of an emergency based on the Act on Special Measures for Countermeasures against the New Coronavirus, targeting one metropolitan area and three prefectures.

Specifically, all persons returning or entering the country from overseas are required to submit documents certifying that they have been inspected within 72 hours before leaving the country.

It is intended for those who return or enter the country after midnight on the 13th of this month, and will also carry out inspections when they arrive at domestic airports.

If you cannot submit the certificate, you will be asked to wait at the accommodation facility secured by the quarantine station, and the inspection will be conducted again on the third day after entry.

Even if this test is negative, you will be asked to wait at home for 14 days after entering Japan after making a pledge to download the contact confirmation application and record location information.

These measures will continue until the state of emergency is lifted.
