  At the beginning of the new year, "The Poetic Wormhole·Fu Yuxiang Sculpture Collection" was officially published by China Culture and Art Publishing House.

As the first sculpture album of international cross-border artist Fu Yuxiang, this book gathers his representative works in the past 10 years of sculpture art and academic documents on exchanges at home and abroad.

On the 8th, in an exclusive interview with a reporter from Chinanews.com, Fu Yuxiang recalled his 36 years of career in art. He said that artists cannot consolidate their thinking when benchmarking the world’s cutting-edge humanities and arts.   Fu Yuxiang, born in Chongqing in 1963, is a multi-artist, oil painting, sculpture, poetry writing, calligraphy, curation... Strictly speaking, "Poetic Wormhole·Fu Yuxiang Sculpture Collection" is his 17th solo album. Most of his works are collections of poems and oil paintings.

  In 2010, Fu Yuxiang started sculpture creation.

In the past ten years, Fu Yuxiang's series of works rich in humanistic thinking and visual impact such as "Immigration to Aliens", "Phoenix Deer", "Green Lion White Elephant", and "Hou Shan Hai Jing" have made Fu Yuxiang famous internationally.

"It can be said that this is a sorting and summary of my 10 years of work in sculpture." Fu Yuxiang introduced, "The Poetic Wormhole·Fu Yuxiang Sculpture Collection" displays 76 original sculptures in 310 pictures, each of which is included in the book. The materials, specifications and creation year of the sculptures are all marked, and the complete details of the sculptures are displayed in all directions.

  It is worth mentioning that the book lists the intellectual property patent certificates of the National Copyright Administration of Fu Yuxiang's sculptures.

Fu Yuxiang introduced that artists are similar to scientists, and all leading, advanced, and original inventions must be "protected."

Since he first applied for a patent for his work in 2015, Fu Yuxiang has obtained 23 registration certificates for his works.

He said that in international exchanges, the word "original" is highly valued.

Fortunately, the public's awareness of intellectual property protection continues to increase, and artists have begun to use various practical actions to protect their original works.

  Fu Yuxiang’s sculptures are more often assessed by the industry as “a transformation from academic construction to urban public humanities and art”. They have become an indispensable part of people’s travel and viewing in the contemporary era, connecting the city’s historical context and future development in multiple dimensions. direction.

Take the two giant public sculptures "Green Lion" and "White Elephant" located on the Yulin River in Longxing, Liangjiang New District, Chongqing as an example. This work won the "Best Public Art Award" at the 22nd China Sculpture Forum. His creation Inspired by the legend of "Green Lion and White Elephant Locking the River" in the Qing Dynasty, it means to firmly lock wealth and auspiciousness.

The two sculptures watch each other across the river, and at the same time, they also evoke people's collective memory of the history and culture of a city.

Fu Yuxiang believes that urban development cannot be separated from the support of culture and art.   Fu Yuxiang mentioned that many Chinese sculptors today have human feelings and future consciousness, but in the field of urban public art, we still need to construct our own unique urban language with a more open, tolerant, and confident attitude. Emphasizing the tradition and the past, it is necessary to find the 21st century cultural form and the diversified integration of artistic images in continuous innovation.

While pursuing the expression of artistic beauty, it also considers the harmonious symbiosis of the works with the city and natural landscape, so that the artistic image can better integrate with the lives of citizens.

  In terms of international exchanges, Fu Yuxiang's works have participated in a series of important international academic exhibitions and have been exhibited in the United States, France, Germany, Japan and other countries.

Fu Yuxiang told reporters that in May 2021, he will once again take part in the 17th Venice International Architecture Biennale with his sculptures "Across the Sea", and will open the sixth stop of the global tour of his works at the Picasso Museum in Spain.
