In response to the state of emergency, the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education has decided to carry out decentralized school attendance from the 12th of this month in order to reduce contact between students at metropolitan high schools.

This was reported at an extraordinary session of the city's board of education held on the night of the 7th.

According to this, in response to the declaration of emergency, we will carry out decentralized school attendance at metropolitan high schools and junior high and high school integrated education schools, except for part-time school, correspondence system, and island school.

The period is from the 12th of this month until the declaration is lifted, which means that the number of students attending school per day will be reduced to about two-thirds of the total.

The days when students go to school are divided according to grade, and on days when they do not go to school, they study online at home.

Many students use public transportation to go to school across areas, and the aim is to reduce the risk of infection and contact between students due to movement, so we have been going to school at metropolitan high schools since June last year.

In addition, all club activities and school trips that accompany accommodation will be canceled until the declaration is lifted, but future entrance examinations for metropolitan high schools will be held as scheduled.

On the other hand, the board of education of the ward, city, town, or village that controls elementary and junior high schools is not required to attend school in a distributed manner because the school area is limited.
