Researcher and academic, Dr. Hamad bin Sarai, shed light on another aspect of Maryam Jumaa’s creativity, besides her literary writings, by referring to her two books “Pearl Dive: Diving: An Economic, Social, and Cultural System: The Emirates is a Model”, and “The Folk Tale in the Emirates Approach. Between the local and the global », issued by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, notably, during the virtual evening organized by the Emirates Writers and Writers Union, Abu Dhabi branch, on the evening of the day before yesterday, as part of a series of seminars« publisher and book », to discuss the book« Mary Jumah Faraj - Icon The Emirati Story », issued by Dar Nabati, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Group for Culture and Arts, to distinguish each of them in an easy way that makes it suitable for all, not just researchers and those interested in heritage.

Focus on the marginalized

Bin Sarai pointed out that the Book of Diving is distinguished from other writings that dealt with this topic by dealing with diving as an economic system, in addition to including many details related to this profession, with a focus on the lives of the marginalized, sailors, and divers and their troubles, in addition to reviewing poetic writings on diving, and examples To "Al-Nahma", which are the songs sung by sailors during the diving trip.

The daughter of her environment

For his part, the poet Nasser Al-Bakr Al-Zaabi focused in his intervention on the most prominent features of Maryam Jumaa's style of writing, pointing out that she was "the daughter of her environment" and was keen on expressing society and contemporary real life. Her narrative style also carried a clear poetic sense, given that she began as a poet. Then she moved to writing the story, in addition to the human contemplative sense in her writing, and moving away from the traditional style of writing in the sixties and seventies.

He described it as "the sedra of narration in the Emirates."
