There is a system to support parents when the school where their children attend is temporarily closed due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

The target is parents and grandparents to take care of their children at home because the school or nursery school they attend is temporarily closed or closed, or the child may be infected with the new coronavirus. This is a case of taking paid leave.

Under the system, wages paid when the company at work takes paid leave in addition to annual paid leave are subsidized.

The maximum amount of subsidy has been raised to 15,000 yen per day since April last year.

In principle, children who have no symptoms are not eligible for voluntary rest to prevent infection.

However, it is also applicable when parents take paid leave when a child who needs medical care or a child with an underlying illness is absent from school approval.

There is also a support fund system when parents who work as freelancers have to take a day off due to school closures.

If certain conditions are met, the amount will be increased from April last year and 7500 yen will be paid per day.

Applications are accepted by mail at the dedicated window.

The labor bureau of each prefecture has a consultation desk, and the call center of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare also accepts consultations.

The number is 0120-60-3999.

Weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays are accepted from 9 am to 9 pm.
