The'Secho Cold Wave' is coming to Jeju, and the strong cold is rising.



The Jeju Regional Meteorological Administration issued a cold wave warning in the mountains of Jeju Island at 9 pm today (6th).



This is the first time in 57 years that a cold wave warning has been in effect in Jeju since 1964, when the Meteorological Administration operated a cold wave warning.



The cold wave warning is issued when the minimum temperature in the morning is below -15 degrees Celsius for more than two days, or when the temperature drops sharply and major damage is expected.



According to the Meteorological Administration, the temperature at Hallasan Seongpanak as of 11 am today was -4.8 degrees Celsius, but tomorrow morning the temperature is expected to drop to around -10 degrees Celsius.



The Meteorological Administration predicted that the Witsaeoreum and Azalea Fields of Hallasan will drop to -15 degrees below zero.



The Meteorological Administration said, "Although special warnings are in effect based on Hallasan Seongpanak, we have issued a cold wave warning, not a cold wave warning, by looking at the overall situation of Hallasan to inform the danger."



Currently, in the case of the production area of ​​Jeju Island, a heavy snow preliminary warning has been in effect for tonight.



The Meteorological Agency predicted that tomorrow morning, the minimum temperature will be 2 to 1 degrees below zero, 2 to 5 degrees below today, and the highest temperature in the daytime will stay at 1 to 2 degrees below zero.



In addition, as wind blows strongly and snow is expected to fall a lot, preliminary warnings for strong winds, heavy snows, and preliminary warnings for strong winds have been in effect throughout Jeju Island and in the far seas of the southwestern part of Jeju Island.
