With the aim of encouraging creative talents in the Emirates to continue making films, and stimulating their creativity in telling stories that reflect a life of quarantine, and the changes that have occurred in the lifestyle in general, the Al Ain Film Festival, in its third session, which will be held from January 23 to 27, On the screening of 17 films within the "Make Your Film in the Time of Corona" competition.
This competition is one of the festival's initiatives in its new cycle, which has met with a great turnout from Emirati talents and residents of all nationalities.
The "Make Your Film in the Time of Corona" competition is in line with the new conditions that the world lived through with the emerging "Corona" virus, as everyone committed to preventive and precautionary measures and stay at home to limit the spread of the virus, which allowed filmmakers to benefit from the quarantine by filming a short film Its duration ranged from three to 15 minutes. Its events revolve around the details of daily life in light of the quarantine imposed by the Corona pandemic, and two prizes were allocated, the first for the best film and the second for the best idea.
Competition idea
The founder and director of the Al Ain Film Festival, Amer Salmeen Al Marri, explained that “the idea of creating this competition came to him, as a new initiative to encourage local and resident creative talents in the UAE, to invest in home survival in making films from home, to be presented in the third session of the festival, with new and different ideas that appear Changes in the lifestyle in general ».
And he considered that "the large number of films that the competition attracted is evidence of the passion of talents in the world of (seventh art) to show their energies and artistic and cinematic creativity even in the most difficult circumstances."
