Local nursery school children and people from the prefecture and city participated in the opening ceremony held at the strawberry farm in Higashiichiki, Hioki.
After the Kusudama was broken, the children sipped the strawberries all at once with the signal "Cheers with strawberries!".
After this, the children were invited into a house with a sweet scent and picked more strawberries than could fit in the pack.
The "Satsuma Otome" developed by Kagoshima Prefecture, which is cultivated at this plantation, is characterized by its large grains and solid fruits, and it is rare to find a place where you can harvest strawberries.
This is because the amount of sunshine was so much that it was sweeter than usual, and you can enjoy strawberry picking until June.
