"A usual hearing gap"

To discover the new faces of 13h, the viewers were 6.4 million in front of TF1 and 3 million in front of France 2. Two values ​​up slightly compared to last year.

"We are in a usual gap between single and double enter France 2 and TF1, so nothing new under the sun," Julian Bugier analyzes.

The journalist even expected more difference in score between the two channels.

"To tell you the truth, I expected a greater gap, with an effect of curiosity for Marie-Sophie Lacarrau absolutely very strong. She succeeds anyway at 33 years of Jean-Pierre Pernaut, it is normal that the let's go watch, "he explains.

"We're not going to overturn the table"

Julian Bugier focuses on France 2. "The idea is to always do better and especially not to do less than before", he explains.

Which is not, according to him, an attempt to get closer to a Pernaut newscast.

"It is not a question of talking about ancestral traditions and regretting a France of somewhat backward-looking traditions," he differentiates.

"It is also about highlighting France which moves, France which innovates, France which finds ideas."

Julian Bugier's first 1pm newscast was held despite a strike by some of the staff, independent of his arrival on the air.

"This is the life of the company, I comply with it. That's why we mentioned it at the end of the newspaper," he explains.
