presents those who will make the news in 2021 thanks to their associative action, their sports performance, their entrepreneurial spirit or their creativity.

  • In Rennes, Roman Collin developed the Follow application which aims to simplify the daily life of doctors by avoiding certain administrative tasks.

  • After seducing Xavier Niel, the start-up has just signed a partnership with the Doctolib platform.

A mother, a nutritionist and a father, an orthopedic surgeon.

Roman Collin was immersed throughout his childhood in the medical world.

It is therefore not a surprise to see him evolve today in the field of health.

But unlike his parents, he does not exercise in a white coat.

More like jeans and sneakers behind his computer.

Five years ago, when he was a little bored at his business school, the 27-year-old launched the start-up Follow.

At the time, Roman Collin observed that the software used by doctors was somewhat archaic.

He then had the idea of developing a solution to save them time by relieving them of certain administrative tasks.

Non-medical tasks whose treatment requires about 13 hours of work per week according to a recent study.

"It is better for doctors to focus on their patients, that's where their added value lies", underlines the young man.

Patients must complete a form in the waiting room

With its Follow application, patients are put to work in the waiting room.

Rather than leafing through magazines, they are invited to complete a questionnaire on a tablet to detail the reason for their visit, their symptoms or their medical history.

"General practitioners know their patients well, but this is not necessarily the case for specialist doctors", specifies the young entrepreneur.

With this information, healthcare professionals can go directly to the consultation and save time.

After a timid start, the start-up really took off in 2018 with a first fundraising of one million euros, notably from Xavier Niel and MBA Mutuelle.

About fifty doctors have also invested in the capital of the company, which has 20 employees spread between Rennes and Paris.

"It's a tool designed for them and it was therefore important to involve them in the project", underlines Roman Collin.

A partnership with the Doctolib platform

Over the months, the application, which now has around 700 users, has been enriched with new features.

It now allows doctors to create a medical record for each of their patients and access it from anywhere with a simple click on their computer or phone.

"We collect very sensitive data so everything is of course very secure", reassures the founder of Follow.

To accelerate its development, the start-up entered into a partnership with Doctolib at the end of the year, the platform allowing patients to make an appointment online.

"We are going to cross-reference our data in order to avoid in particular double entry", underlines Roman Collin, full of ambitions for 2021. "We should double the size of the company by next year with the recruitment of about twenty people ”, indicates the young entrepreneur, who has set himself the goal of equipping“ 15,000 doctors by 2025 ”.
