The reporter recently followed the Milin County Working Group of the Ninth Batch of Guangdong Province’s Tibet Aid Task Force into the Tibetan paper crafts farmers’ cooperative in Xigamenba Village, Qiangna Township, Milin County, Linzhi City, Tibet, to see the process of Tibetan paper manufacturing.

  The Tibetan papermaking has a long history.

The Tibetan paper is collected by collecting chamaejasme flowers and other raw materials, then peeling off the bark, grinding and processing; after drying, smoothing and boiling the material, it is beaten into mud; after ripening, filtering with gauze, leveling and drying, then grinding And steam it into paper.

Then use special materials for dyeing, drawing or printing on paper to make portraits, notebooks, etc., which are stored for a long time and are not perishable.

  According to reports, Xigamenba Village was formed by the relocation of Lugu Village and Guodeng Village in Gandeng Township, Medog County. It was moved to Qiangna Township, Milin County in 2003. It is mainly composed of three ethnic groups: Tibetan, Luoba and Menba. .

The village has established a Tibetan paper crafts farmers' professional cooperative. Through the construction of a Tibetan paper processing experience park, a project integrating Tibetan paper and Tibetan incense production and tourism experience has been developed, inheriting Tibetan paper production techniques, and driving the development of the village’s collective economy and increasing villagers’ income .

  According to Lin Dong, a member of the village working team of Qiangna Township, the Tibetan paper produced by the Tibetan Paper Crafts Farmers Cooperative in Xigamenba Village adopts an order-based sales model and is mainly sold to Tibet, Sichuan and other places.
