The Disney + streaming platform will expand its range of films and series from the end of February, with the arrival in France of a new service called "Star", a sort of international version of the American streaming service "Hulu".

This acquisition will result in an increase of two euros in the monthly subscription.

After Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and the 30 seasons of the

Simpsons content

, Disney + will further strengthen its catalog.

From February 23, it is enriched with a new brand,

Star

, which will include according to the group "thousands of hours of films and series".

Launched in France and several other countries in Europe,

Star

is a kind of international version of the American

Hulu

site

and targets an adult audience.

Star

, we find the series

Big Sky

,

,

,

or the series adaptation of the cult film

Alien

Disney + is arming itself against the competition

This catalog enrichment is a consequence of the acquisition by the Disney group of most of the assets of 21st Century Fox.

It foreshadows ever fiercer competition between streaming services, particularly American streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video, Netflix or Apple TV +.

Disney + announced in December that it had exceeded its objectives with the conquest of 86.8 million subscribers worldwide since its launch in November 2019.
