Actor Danny Masterson -

The Church of Scientology cares for its members.

Danny Masterson was due to stand trial for civil harassment, but he won't.

The actor was implicated by four women who claim to have been harassed by the actor and senior Scientology officials to silence them after accusing him of sexual assault.

A Los Angeles judge, who oversees the civil trial, determined that the written agreement signed by the four accusers while they were still part of the organization (classified as a sect by several parliamentary reports in France) was binding legally.

This contract specifically states that "any litigation, claim or controversy" between members of Scientology must be brought before church authorities.

In other words, as TMZ sums it up, the four women will have to be judged by the people they accuse!

A situation that seems absurd but remains completely legal across the Atlantic, where the Church of Scientology - which has superstars like Tom Cruise and John Travolta in its ranks - is ultra-powerful and is considered a religion in its own right.

Awaiting criminal trial

If he still seems protected by the organization, Danny Masterson is not out of the woods.

Another criminal trial for rapes, some of which date back to 2001, could send him to prison for 45 years if found guilty.
