where the city of Vannes has just put up for sale some of its old Christmas decorations.

About 70 lots are offered for sale until Wednesday morning with different types of illuminations sold from ten euros.

One of them, sporting a luminous “Happy Holidays” motif, is particularly popular with a bid which has already reached 2,225 euros.

For the city of Vannes, this sale will make it possible to bring some money into the coffers.

"These are old Christmas lights, some of them over 40 years old and equipped with energy-consuming bulbs," explains François Ars, deputy mayor in charge of public spaces, interviewed by
