Kane Tanaka of Fukuoka City, who is recognized as the oldest person in the world by the Guinness World Records, celebrated her 118th birthday on the 2nd.

Kane Tanaka of Fukuoka City was born on January 2, 1868, and turned 118 on the 2nd.



Currently, Mr. Tanaka lives in a welfare facility for the elderly in Fukuoka City.



According to the facility, when the staff said "Happy Birthday" on the 2nd, Mr. Tanaka was happy to clap his hands.



It is said that he has hardly met his family due to the influence of the new coronavirus, but he seems to be doing well, eating three meals a day, eating without fail, and doing gymnastics.



Mr. Tanaka likes chocolate and sparkling drinks, and enjoys solving calculation problems such as multiplication and division, and his goal is to "live well until he is 120 years old."



Mr. Tanaka was certified as the "oldest person in the world in life" by the Guinness World Records in March, and is the oldest person in Japan who can be confirmed at present.
