A man in his thirties died on the night of Thursday to Friday in Aubenas (Ardèche), a woman is in police custody, suspected of having stabbed him, we learned from concordant sources.
In the night, a man was stabbed in the chest during a "marital brawl", according to a source familiar with the matter.
The victim, transported to hospital, died early Friday morning, said the prosecution.
A suspect in custody
A woman, who was in the same accommodation as the victim, was arrested shortly after the incident.
Initially presented as his companion, the "nature of his relationship" with the victim remained to be clarified, said the prosecution.
This alcoholic woman was placed in a sobering-up cell after her arrest.
She had been heard since Friday afternoon by the police from the Aubenas police station, responsible for the investigation.
His custody was to be extended at the end of the day for 24 hours, according to the prosecution.
Two neighbors, where the victim knocked for help, were notably interviewed by investigators.
