[Explanation] Recently, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Carrie Lam pointed out that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has made breakthroughs in the procurement of new coronary pneumonia vaccines, and the first batch of vaccines will arrive in Hong Kong as early as January 2021.

The SAR government’s goal is to vaccinate most citizens in Hong Kong for free by 2021.

A few days ago, the former legislative council member of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and chairman of the Hong Kong Medical Staff Federation, Pan Peiqiu, said in an exclusive interview with a reporter from China News Agency that in the future vaccination process, the SAR government and Hong Kong citizens still need to maintain a high degree of vigilance and should not relax.

If, because of the vaccine, when some people start getting vaccinated, others immediately relax, that would be terrible.

On the one hand, it is to vaccinate the vaccine in an orderly manner, but on the other hand, I think, at the same time, we have to work step by step, be very careful, and continue to maintain our vigilance.

It takes time for this person to be vaccinated. It is not that 7 million people will be vaccinated at once. Some people may want to think about it. It will take time. So I think it will take one to two years.

[Explanation] It is reported that Hong Kong has purchased a total of 22.5 million doses of vaccines using three different technologies. In the future, citizens can choose the type of vaccination by choosing the time and place of vaccination.

Pan Peiqiu said that the development time of the new crown vaccine is relatively short, and the effect still needs time to test. It is recommended that even citizens who have been vaccinated in the future still need to protect themselves.

Now it means that because this vaccine was developed in a (shorter) time than under normal circumstances, and at the same time, the curative effect should be seen clearly under actual combat conditions to see how much protection it can actually provide.

So I think at the beginning, we must not regard this vaccine as a panacea, just as if we are not afraid, we will be invulnerable, and we will rush forward. This is very dangerous.

I still believe that it is the traditional technology for manufacturing vaccines, that is to say, vaccines made by so-called inactivated viruses.

[Explanation] Earlier, a person diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia escaped from the hospital, causing panic throughout the city.

In this regard, Pan Peiqiu suggested that in the future, medical institutions can prevent such situations from recurring by setting up security personnel outside the wards of confirmed and quarantined persons, and checking identity documents for entry and exit.

The hospital is not a highly fortified place, but if someone says that because of this, it seems that there is a legal quarantine, I am afraid that the government should arrange for some security guards to guard the door as well. When he enters and exits, he must check whether this is in the end. It is not appropriate to do so.

For example, if a security guard is in that place, he needs to check your ID card when he enters and exits, and he needs to check whether it is a patient in this ward or a patient in this hospital. This is not difficult to do.
