"Swamp".

In January on "Kinopoisk HD"

The series "Swamps" by Vladimir Mirzoev ("Boris Godunov", "The Man Who Knew Everything") was filmed according to the script by Dmitry Glukhovsky, the author of such novels as "Metro 2033" and "Text".

According to the director, "Topi" combines several genres: it is a philosophical parable, fantasy, horror, and psychological drama.

Glukhovsky, in turn, promises that viewers will not be able to sleep peacefully after watching the series.

In the center of the plot are five young Muscovites.

Each hero has his own problems: one cannot overcome the disease, the other is tormented by a feeling of guilt, the third is experiencing unhappy love ... They run from the capital to a monastery somewhere in the Arkhangelsk region.

The heroes hope to find answers to their questions, but instead face their own fears.

“People who are accustomed, of course, in modern Moscow to the fact that everything in the world is clear to them, suddenly find themselves in the chthonic world of the Russian hinterland, where no understandable rules no longer work, where they collide with their own and other people's internal and external demons and get stuck in these swamps from which they cannot escape.

Only if they are reborn, ”said the scriptwriter of the project.

The roles in the series were played by Ivan Yankovsky, Katerina Shpitsa, Tikhon Zhiznevsky, Anastasia Krylova, Sofia Volodchinskaya and Maxim Sukhanov.

The action simultaneously unfolds in the real world, where Nastya lives her usual life, and in the heroine's head - there her subpersonalities decide how to arrange the mistress's happiness.

Among the scriptwriters of the project are Konstantin Mayer ("Fire", "I'm losing weight") and Nikolai Kulikov ("Moving up", "Crew").

At the same time, the plot of the series has little in common with the events described in the original source.

The writers borrowed only the characters and some episodes, and also tried to convey the atmosphere of the books.

The series is set in the fictional city of Ankh-Morpork, where crime is legal.

In the center of the plot - a team of police officers led by Sam Vimes (Richard Dormer), who rebelled against tradition to save the city from disaster.

Law enforcement officers are engaged in a variety of investigations and solve both mysterious murders and the loss of books from the library.

"Call me Kat" (Call Me Kat).

From January 3 on Fox

The star of the sitcom The Big Bang Theory Mayem Bialik returns to the screens with the main role in the comedy project Call Me Cat.

She played a 39-year-old American woman who is forced to struggle daily with the stereotypes imposed by society (and more than others by her mother) and prove to others that one can be happy.

The heroine decides to pursue her dream and opens a cat cafe.

The character of Bialik and the style of the project as a whole are inspired by the sitcom "Miranda" about the owner of a funny store with the participation of Miranda Hart (the actress herself worked on "Call Me Cat" as a producer).

“The heroine we have invented is a woman in whose world there is a place for everyone, as this makes it interesting and colorful.

Some of the characters are fictional, others have real prototypes.

We also involve the viewers in the screen action: they understand her jokes and empathize with her, because this is how she sees the world - in it everyone is part of a single whole, ”Bialik explained.

She also served as the executive producer of the project.

"Lupine" (Lupine).

January 8 on Netflix

Arsene Lupine is the central character in the works of the French writer Maurice Leblanc.

This character is the inspiration for the Louvre janitor Assan Diop ("1 + 1" star Omar Si).

When Diop was a teenager, his father was unjustly accused of a crime.

Soon the man died, and Assan's life turned upside down.

Already an adult hero, brought up on the adventures of Lupine, decides to avenge his parent and steal a fabulously expensive exhibit from the museum.

"Wanda / Vision" (WandaVision).

From January 15 to Disney +

One of the most anticipated TV series not only in January, but of the year, was the Wanda / Vision based on Marvel comics.

The series takes place following the action of the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame.

The newlyweds live serenely in a country house.

Over time, they begin to suspect that everything around is not what it seems.

The creators of the project were inspired by the style of popular television comedies of the 1950s and family shows of the 1990s.

The tape was filmed in black and white, and the audience was present on the set, as well as on the recording of old sitcoms.

To create a more authentic atmosphere, the show's crew wore 1950s-style clothing, while the cameramen used old lenses and appropriate lighting to convey the vintage style.

"Walker" (Walker).

January 21 at The CW, 22nd at Amediatek

As in the original series, Walker explores moral issues and family values.

In addition to fulfilling professional duties, Cordell will have to reunite with wayward children, as well as solve various family problems.

January 22nd on Netflix

The fantasy for adults "Destiny: The Winx Club Saga" is based on the Italian animated series "Winx Club" about the adventures of fairies fighting against evil.

The animation tape appeared in 2004 and has grown over time into a popular franchise with additional projects and numerous spin-offs.

The adult version of the story is very similar to the plot of the animated series.

At the center of the action are five young fairies.

They live in a school of magic, where they learn to control their own powers and prepare for battles with monsters.

The series turned out to be much darker than the cartoon.

In addition, as Screenrant notes, one of the virtues of the original that had a positive effect on attracting a female audience was the fashionable experiments of the protagonists.

Fairies from the film "Destiny: The Winx Club Saga" pay much less attention to their appearance.

The roles in the series were played by Abigail F. Cowen (Sabrina's Chilling Adventures), Hannah van der Westhuisen (Bay of Silence), Preshes Mustafa (Young Morse), Eliot Salt (Normal People) and Elisha Applebaum ( Hooligan undercover ").
