The funeral of French couturier Pierre Cardin, who died Tuesday at the age of 98, will be celebrated in Paris in "family intimacy", according to the announcement published this Thursday, which does not specify the date.

"A ceremony will be celebrated in the cemetery of Montmartre in Paris (18th) in the family intimacy, followed by the burial", specifies the announcement published in

The exact date of the ceremony has not been released by the family.

A commemorative mass will be held in late January in the capital, a close source said.

Son of Italian immigrants who became a businessman with a world-famous name, Pierre Cardin died Tuesday at the American hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine.
