Elodie was hot, but she ended up winning season 9 of the
Best pastry chef
broadcast Wednesday on M6.
During the first test, consisting in concocting, without a recipe, the raspberry cake appearing in the credits of the show, the 31-year-old Mulhousienne was scared.
Without warning, the bowl she had filled with melted chocolate exploded.
More fear than harm, despite the pieces of glass scattered all over the worktop.
Once the stupor passed, Elodie pulled herself together to carry out her mission.
The setback did not penalize her since she qualified for the final test, against Margaux.
Bouchra, the medical secretary from Val-d'Oise, had to return her apron.
Alice vs. King-Kong
Last challenge on the road to victory: the making of a "masterpiece".
In other words, the two finalists had to make a cake inspired by a movie and stage it.
Margaux, 18 years old - the youngest finalist in the history of the program - opted for
King-Kong
: gorilla in nougatine, flames in sugar, and building in cake ... Elodie, she was inspired by
Alice in Wonderland
: pink meringues, roses in marzipan, chocolate cards revealing heart-shaped cakes ...
If Mercotte attended the tasting by videoconference and could only judge the aesthetic aspect, Cyril Lignac and François Perret, pastry chef at the Ritz in Paris, have finished their plates.
Their preference therefore went to Elodie.
They penalized Margaux for having prepared a cake containing too much cream and too high (a shame for a sweet skyscraper).
This final show visibly delighted viewers who had never been so numerous to follow a final of the
Best pastry chef
.
3.8 million people attended, representing an audience share of 17%.
