Alsace is one of the most touristic regions in France.
But in the spring, it was hit hard by the coronavirus epidemic. Classified in red for several weeks, the newspaper Le Monde had renamed it "Coronaland".

If the word Alsace brings up images of half-timbered houses, geraniums at the windows, and storks.
This spring it has been synonymous with overwhelmed hospitals and coffins grouped together in warehouses.
15 million tourists normally visit Alsace each year.
But, this year, that was not the case.
