He pointed out that modern Luxor is witnessing massive popular festivals and carnivals, some of which carry many manifestations of the celebrations of their ancestors from the ancient Egyptians, such as the Sidi Abi Al-Hajjaj procession, which has been held for more than 800 years and until today, and in which people roam the city streets while they are dragging Sidi Abi Al-Hajjaj boats behind them. In the streets, similar to the procession of Amun, when he was leaving the temples of Karnak to visit the Luxor Temple, in what is known as the Opet Festival.

And my minister considered that the festival of Opet was one of the most important religious feasts for the ancient Egyptians, besides the festival of “Valley”, which was also taking place in Luxor, explaining that on the festival of Opet (Love - Nefer - In - Abt), Amon - Ra was moving from his headquarters in the temples Karnak visited his wife, Queen Mut, in the Luxor Temple, in an annual ritual in which he renewed his vitality and strength, and then returned to his headquarters in the Karnak temples, in celebrations that lasted 27 days.
