The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced on the 30th that it had confirmed that 944 new people were infected with the new coronavirus in the preliminary figures as of 3:00 pm on the 30th.
The number of people announced on the 1st in Tokyo will be the second largest so far, after 949 people on the 26th of this month.
It's also the highest number of Wednesdays ever, and the highest number for each day of the week for the 16th consecutive day.
