When Thorlief Torstensson got to know Roland Cedermark, they both played rock and Roland created his own dance band Cedermarks.

Roland Cedermark is also behind the lyrics and music for the songs Nothing makes me long for you and Five Red Roses for you that Thorleif recorded.

- They became some of our biggest hits, my heart cries of course, he was such a wonderful person and so meticulously accurate, says Thorleif Torstensson.

"Gave the songs an extra dimension"

Roland Cedermark died the night before Christmas Eve and was one of Sweden's most famous accordion and dance band musicians.

Among other things, he is known for Pärleporten.

He made his debut in 1976 and according to his record company has sold over two million copies of his records, of which twelve sold gold.

He has had several songs at Svensktoppen.

- I have had the privilege of recording his songs and then he often wanted to play himself as well.

It has given the songs an extra dimension, it is not an accordionist in the world who has that feeling.

He will always be in my life as one of the most wonderful musicians.

Torstensson remembers that Roland Cedermark had an ability to go up in music to the point that he became completely exhausted afterwards, because he gave everything.

- It was not possible to talk to him a quarter of an hour afterwards, he gave everything for the music, he gasped for breath, he says.
