  • Albert Bourla, CEO of Pfizer, explained in an interview on December 14 that he was not yet vaccinated against Covid-19 because he is not one of the priority people.

  • His words were misinterpreted and many Internet users wrongly claim that the leader "refuses" to be vaccinated.

  • Vaccination with the Pfizer-BioNTech alliance serum has started in the US, UK and EU countries.

The vaccine from the American laboratory Pfizer, developed with the Germans from BioNTech, is on the front line in the fight against Covid-19.

French, Germans, British and even Americans have started their vaccination campaign with the serum of this alliance.

But why isn't the CEO of Pfizer yet vaccinated?

Not because he "refuses" to do so, as many Internet users maintain on social networks, or even Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, on December 22 on the LCI set.

FAKE OFF

Albert Bourla did not indeed "refuse" to be vaccinated.

"As soon as I can, I will," said the CEO of Pfizer in an interview on December 14 with the American channel CNBC, adding that he was not yet vaccinated because he is not one of the priority people.

“I am 59 years old, I am in good health,” he said.

He doesn't want to give the impression of "cutting the line."

However, he added to think about being vaccinated soon, because of a survey conducted on behalf of his company.

Seeing the CEO of this laboratory get vaccinated would have a strong encouraging effect, more than the public vaccination of Joe Biden or any other president, he detailed.

If Albert Bourla were to be vaccinated quickly, other Pfizer officials will have to wait according to the recommendations of the authorities depending on their situation (fragile people, etc.).

Due to the limited number of doses currently available, the American CDC (for Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the equivalent of Public Health France) recommends vaccinating as a priority the caregivers and residents of long-term care facilities.

According to the Covid Tracker site, 70 people have been vaccinated in France since the start of the vaccination campaign, launched on Sunday in nursing homes.
