The Minister of Health Olivier Véran was the guest of the television news of

He explained that the government "has ruled out the idea of ​​confinement" but is considering an "extension of the curfew" in certain territories.

“We've been on a plateau for about three weeks with an average of 15,000 new cases every day.

Olivier Véran also declared that "a consultation will start with the local elected officials to take the necessary measures".

“We reject the idea of ​​containment,” he said.

But "we have proposed an extension of the curfew, which could start at 6 pm in the evening [against 8 pm currently] in the metropolises and departments most affected by the epidemic".

This could come into effect on January 2, 2021.
