About 34,000 homes were without electricity on Sunday evening in eastern and central France as Storm Bella continued its course, according to the grid manager, Enedis.

Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Alsace France Comté are particularly affected, said a spokesperson for Enedis, interviewed by AFP.

"Evolving situation"

The electricity network manager says he is "mobilized to restore electricity to these homes" without commenting on the timeframe for a return to normal due to the "evolving situation" and made complicated by ongoing snowfall In the evening.

On the other hand, in Brittany, in Normandy, in the North and Pas-de-Calais, the first regions to have been affected by the storm in the morning, some "18,000 homes have found the current", he added.

In detail, a little more than 12,000 homes were deprived of electricity on Sunday in Brittany and Normandy, and up to 6,000 were in the Nord and Pas-de-Calais, following the passage of the storm Bella, which also caused some delays on departure from Roissy CDG airport and the diversion of some flights.

According to Enedis, 200 technicians were at work in the departments of Nord and Pas-de-Calais, most of the cuts having taken place particularly "at the rear of the coast" and in the Arrageois.

In Loire-Atlantique, no cut-off related to the storm was reported, according to a spokesperson for Enedis, who reported a "normal Sunday".
