The main task of our institute is to pass on the skills of Guilin Cliff Carvings to our younger generation, and make a little contribution to promote our Guilin stone carving culture.

We have now accepted ten apprentices, mainly to teach them the basic operation of our transfer and extension skills, so that they can learn to master the entire transfer and extension skills.

[Explanation] The Guihai Forest of Steles Museum is located in Longyinyan Rock, which is the most concentrated stone carving in Guilin. It is known as "the cliffs are all over, and the walls are endless". There are 213 stone carvings from the Tang Dynasty to the Republic of China. .

[Explanation] Guilin stone carvings span over a thousand years of history and are scattered on more than 30 mountain peaks, many of which are located on precipices.

Wei Kexiang has been engaged in the work of transfer and extension for more than 20 years, of which ten years have been working alone. In addition to facing the risks and difficulties of collecting stone rubbings, he has to learn to adapt to loneliness.

When we do this rubbing, when we do fieldwork, generally speaking, we are all alone, and sometimes we feel a little irritable.

But if I encounter this situation, I will mainly read the inscriptions after finishing the development. Think about how the ancients carved this tablet, what was the content of the tablet, what was his mood at the time, after reading it In the future, I will take my own rubbings to see the results that I have developed. I will save it for us as a Guilin stone carving cultural material. It is a little sense of accomplishment.

In this way, we can get rid of our feelings of loneliness and loneliness, and also slowly disappear our tiredness and fatigue.

[Explanation] In recent years, with the addition of new forces, the Guihai Forest of Stone Inscriptions has formed a team work, and Wei Kexiang has also begun to systematically collect rubbings of the Guilin Cliff Statues.

After the establishment of Guilin Institute, it will provide better talent guarantee and basic conditions for creating a new situation in the protection of cultural relics and ancient books in Guangxi, so that ancient book restoration techniques and stone carving techniques will be passed on.
