Sheikha Intisar Al-Sabah, owner of the Nuer initiative, said that the Covid-19 pandemic had a great impact on people in various parts of the world, as it contributed to changing the consumption pattern in the whole world, not only in a specific country, to turn into societies that aspire to Productivity and focus on what is beneficial, also contributed to slowing the speed of life and helping many to review their relationship with themselves, those around them, and with nature as well.

Al-Sabah, the owner of "Intisar Foundation", which specializes in providing psychological support to women affected by war, which has won many awards for its efforts in the field of humanitarian work, women and education, indicated that the "Covid-19" pandemic was the reason for her return to the practice of agriculture, caring for and caring for plants. , Which is an old hobby that started with her since her childhood and over time she departed from it as a result of work and travel pressures, explained during the virtual evening organized by the "Sea of Culture" Foundation, the day before yesterday, under the title "From the garden to the dining table: a personal experience towards food security", in the presence of Sheikha Rawda bint Muhammad bin Khalid Al Nahyan, founder and chairperson of the Board of Directors of “Bahr al-Thaqafa”, and Sheikha Sheikha bint Muhammad bin Khalid Al Nahyan, said that she did not expect her life to witness the amount of change caused by the pandemic.

Al-Sabah described her relationship with agriculture as a journey from which she learned a lot about herself and about nature and plants and is still learning a lot, noting that she returned to agriculture with the beginning of home quarantine, and with the tendency of people not to leave the house, and to get their basic needs from the closest place to them, and get rid of the pattern Consumerism, and that she thought that she had a lot of plants that were luxuries, and she made a decision to focus on what is known as sustainability in planting, in the sense of reducing plants and consumptive cultivation, and increasing the productive plants that benefit in daily life, whether as food or as a source of aromatic or pleasant-looking aromas.

Al-Sabah added: “My view of agriculture has changed, and I tend to think about how to reduce the effort I spend in farming with the farmers who work with me, and at the same time increase the benefit from what we grow.

This change was not limited to my view of agriculture only, but my view of even my work changed, so I focused on working in a smart way, and making use of all resources and efforts, ”indicating that she has learned a lot since the beginning of the pandemic, which gave her a sense of self-confidence, and the ability to feel nature And interacting with it more than before, which gives a person an opportunity to see God’s giving in the universe in a different way, as studies have shown that the mind has different vibrations, including “beta” associated with focus and attention, and “alpha” associated with happiness and relaxation. Therefore, a person feels happiness when he practices a hobby or His favorite work.

She added: “The change that occurred in the pattern and rhythm of life with the home stone, allowed a person to breathe and calm down, and when that happened, even small things made us happy, like a quiet cup of coffee.

Our options have also changed, the most important of which is the trend to buy our local products, to encourage merchants and farmers in my region and my country. There are many who have been negatively affected by "Corona", and for me the big companies do not interest me, but I care about young people who put all their money in small projects and the pandemic came to threaten them. The closest is more favorable. ”

For her part, Sheikha Rawda bint Muhammad bin Khalid Al Nahyan, in the speech delivered on her behalf by Sheikha Sheikha Bint Muhammad bin Khalid Al Nahyan, was keen to welcome the guest Sheikha Intisar Al-Sabah, expressing her pride in her as an honorable model for the creative Kuwaiti and Gulf women in everything she broached from fields.
