According to reports, after the outbreak, Guangdong initiated emergency response plans as soon as possible.
As of 9:00 on December 23, Guangdong has screened 170 close contacts, 199 close contacts of close contacts, 16 general contacts, and 88 key populations. All personnel have implemented health management and carried out measures. Nucleic acid test results were negative.
The Guangdong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention carried out virus gene tracing, from the genetic sequencing of the virus infected by the staff member Wu, and the training of the virus genes of the confirmed imported cases from Myanmar found in the isolation hotel where they were working, and integrated epidemiology, laboratory testing and genetic training. Based on the sequencing and comparison, experts determined that the staff member's infection originated from an imported case from an isolated hotel.
