The Sharjah Heritage Institute organized the activities of the Sudanese Cultural Day in Sharjah, through its virtual platform, highlighting features of Sudan's rich heritage and culture.

The events featured Sudanese artistic performances, traditional costumes, cosmetic products, traditional handicrafts, making leather products, pottery, Sudanese cuisine, and a virtual trip across Sudan, which is the food basket of Africa and the Arab world, including cultural, cultural, heritage and ethnic diversity.

The head of the Sharjah Heritage Institute, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Musallam said: “The cultural days came as a continuation and continuation of the World Heritage Weeks journey organized by the Institute under the slogan of World Heritage in Sharjah, and out of a spirit of continuing to communicate and interact and organize various programs related to heritage, which confirms the Institute’s role and efforts. In preserving heritage, and communicating with the world in this regard ».

He added, “We reached the Sudanese Cultural Day in Sharjah, which took us through the virtual platform on an interesting journey through Sudan, with its environmental, geographical, cultural and heritage diversity, and the depths of the diverse and ancient Sudanese civilization, accompanied by heritage lovers, researchers and specialists, so that we could draw from the food basket of Africa and the Arab world. More than economics, knowledge, culture and heritage ».

Al-Muslim pointed out that “Sudan is an important and diverse repository of authentic customs, traditions, arts and values, and its geographical location plays an important role in this diversity, and its ancient heritage reflects Arab and African features in an intertwining and vital intermingling that supports the national belonging of the Sudanese people, and in it the ethnic, cultural and religious diversity constitutes value. In addition to its heritage and civilization balance, Sudan has an ancient civilization rooted in history, a huge and varied ancient heritage, rich experience and distinctive experiences that deserve appreciation, and its heritage is distinguished.

Sudan is an ancient country full of diversity, cultural and heritage richness, traditional arts and distinctive folk dances, including the Kembla dance, which is performed by some tribes of the Nuba Mountains south of Kordofan State, such as some factions of the Dajo tribe, some factions of the Missiriya tribe, as well as some factions of the Nuba tribes, and this dance took place From a pastoral environment to cows, and there are no musical instruments in the dance.

There is also the Karang dance, from the Nuba tribes in the state of Kordofan, and this dance is characterized by strength and display of physical strength, and the sword dance from eastern Sudan, which is carried out to the rhythm of the koala and bhub, and other folk dances that are loved by the people of Sudan and heritage lovers.

Participation in the Sudanese Cultural Day varied, including pottery making, leather products and silverware, traditional costumes, cosmetic products, accessories, Sudanese perfumes, and others, which reflects the culture of Sudan with its diversity.
