Okinawa Prefecture has requested restaurants in Naha City, Urasoe City, Okinawa City, etc. to strengthen measures against infection with the new coronavirus during the year-end and New Year holidays. After extending the period by two weeks, we decided to add Nago City and Ginowan City to the target area.

On the morning of the 23rd, Okinawa Prefecture held a meeting of the countermeasures headquarters for the new coronavirus, and decided on specific measures for the year-end and New Year holidays when there are many opportunities for people to gather.

According to this, in Naha City, Urasoe City, and Okinawa City, which are requesting all restaurants to shorten their business hours, the number of infections at restaurants is decreasing, but the medical care provision system is tight. Assuming that the situation continues, we will extend the request period from 28th of this month to 11th of this month for 2 weeks.

In addition, as Nago City and Ginowan City are experiencing a series of infections at restaurants, we will add them to the target areas for 18 days from 25th to January 11th, which will request a new reduction in business hours.

This means that we will continue to provide cooperation money to businesses in the extended period and newly targeted areas.

Governor Tamaki of Okinawa Prefecture will hold a press conference on the afternoon of the 23rd to explain such measures.
