The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced that it has confirmed that 748 new people have been infected with the new coronavirus in Tokyo at the preliminary figures as of 3:00 pm on the 23rd.
It was the second highest ever, after 821 people on the 17th of this month six days ago.
Also, the number of people exceeding 700 has been 736 since the 19th of this month, four days ago.
This brings the total number of confirmed infections in Tokyo to 53,130.
