[Explanation] Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Legislative Council Member He Junyao said on December 23 that a "National Security Education Center" will be established, which is expected to be officially launched in February 2021.

He Junyao said that the center will organize training courses on national conditions for Hong Kong judges to participate in to strengthen judges' understanding of society and the country.

  [Explanation] Cao Fushun, the permanent honorary president of the International Public Welfare Legal Services Association, said that after the establishment of the "National Security Education Center", it will focus on studying how to promote national security education under the Hong Kong National Security Law, Hong Kong Basic Law Article 23 legislation, and Hong Kong judicial reform.

  The International Public Welfare Legal Services Association formally established the "National Security Education Center" and focused on researching how to promote education on the National Security Law, the legislation of Article 23 of the Basic Law, and the necessary judicial reforms in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region under the conditions of the (Hong Kong) National Security Law.

  [Explanation] He Junyao said that the center hopes to promote a series of judicial reforms, including the establishment of a sentencing committee and the abolition of Hong Kong judges’ “wearing wigs” regulations.
