"Fire"

"Fire" is a Russian blockbuster by Alexei Nuzhny ("I'm losing weight", "Loudspeaker") about rescuers working on forest fires.

But this tape is not a traditional disaster film with an abundance of special effects and an unrealistic plot, but an emotional drama about ordinary people with ordinary, familiar problems and fears.

“We tried to make it not just a blockbuster with fire, extinguishing fires, saving people, and so on.

We tried to make human history, ”explained the leading actor Konstantin Khabensky.

Key characters were also played by Ivan Yankovsky, Anton Bogdanov, Viktor Dobronravov, Roman Kurtsyn and Tikhon Zhiznevsky.

It is interesting that there is practically no computer graphics in the film, and the actors on the set themselves worked with fire and performed some tricks.

According to the director, the team strove to ensure that in the eyes of the heroes "a real, not a computer flame" was reflected.

A Christmas Gift from Bob

The family tape "Christmas of Bob the Cat" is the sequel to the 2016 film "Bob the Street Cat", which is based on the book of the same name by James Bowen.

It tells how a pet changed the life of its owner.

The work is based on real events.

In the second half of the 2000s, street musician Bowen was going through a difficult period: he could barely make ends meet and tried to cope with drug addiction.

One day James found a wounded ginger cat on the street.

The man took him to the vet, and then released him.

But the cat began to accompany his savior everywhere.

Bowen's life gradually improved.

He argued that this would not have happened without Bob.

A novel about the friendship between a musician and a cat was published in 2012.

Several sequels later appeared.

The books in the series have been translated into 40 languages and sold a total circulation of 8 million copies.

The role of Bowen in the film was played by British actor Luke Treadaway, and the cat was "played" by Bob himself.

This is his last appearance on the screen: the pet died in the summer of 2020 at the age of 14.

Romeo and Juliet: Beyond Words

"Romeo and Juliet" by Michael Nunn is the film version of the cult production of the world ballet legend, Tony Award winner Kenneth MacMillan.

The premiere of the play to music by Sergei Prokofiev took place in London 55 years ago.

The main parts were then performed by Margot Fontaine and Rudolf Nureyev.

In the film version, the main characters are played by young artists of the Royal Ballet of London, William Bracewell and Francesca Hayward.

For Bracewell, this is the first role on the big screen, and Hayward is already familiar to viewers from Tom Hooper's musical Cats.

On the screen, they presented a classic Shakespearean story about members of the warring families of Montagues and Capulet - Romeo and Juliet.

The heroes fall in love with each other and secretly marry.

On the same day, Romeo is forced to fight with Juliet's cousin Tybalt and kills him.

The following events lead to tragedy.

Widow's Point

The writer Thomas Livingston is working on a book with a mystical plot.

To draw attention to the piece, he travels to an old (rumored to be haunted) lighthouse over the weekend.

At the lighthouse, a man finds a diary of a girl who previously lived there.

She writes about the paranormal phenomena she has noticed.

Soon Livingston himself finds himself in the center of events of a mystical nature.

The plot of the tape is promising, however, according to the author of the MovieReelist portal Monty Lee Stormer, the film will not frighten the viewer - although it will keep him in suspense.

“This movie will not excite you enough that you will not be able to sleep, but you will have a reason to giggle.

If you were thinking of watching a creepy story with children without an abundance of bloody scenes or something beyond the bounds, probably "Widow's Lighthouse" is just what you need.

This is a purely entertaining film that requires nothing more than popcorn, soda and a cozy blanket, ”the film critic writes.

The script is based on the book by Billy and Richard Chismarov "Cape Widows".

The main role in the film is played by Craig Schaeffer (“Where the River Runs”).

"Guests at the Villa" (Villetta con ospiti)

The people around it know its members as respectable people, but in reality everything is different.

In the story, one of the main characters accidentally kills a child.

Relatives get together and think about how to get out of this situation, so that their reputation does not suffer.

According to the creators of the tape, each central character will become the personification of one of the seven deadly sins.

During the night, the heroes will reveal their worst sides.

The project was staged by the laureate of the Venice Film Festival Ivano De Matteo.
