Corona reaches the furthest point in the world

Corona virus "broke out at the Chilean research base" O'Higgins "in Antarctica, Antarctica, as reported by the British newspaper" Daily Mail ".

The newspaper added that the breach through which the virus entered the frozen continent in late November, was inside the delivery of supplies to the base via a naval ship.

When the ship returned to the port of Talcahuano, in southern Chile, tests showed that a number of its crew members had been infected.

After similar tests were carried out at O'Higgins, 26 military personnel and 10 other contractors who were performing maintenance work at the base were found to be injured.

The injuries occurred despite the precautions that the Chilean navy said it had taken, before the sailors set out towards Antarctica, if the checks for the crew were negative.

Tourist trips to the distant continent were canceled with the start of the epidemic in the world, and all kinds of personal contact between the 70 bases located there were prohibited, and research work was impeded.

The Chilean military said that all non-essential personnel of the base had been sent home.

It is reported that the base is one of 13 Chilean bases in Antarctica and is named after Bernardo O'Higgins Riquelme, who is considered a national hero in the battle for independence from Spain.
