Prepare your holy water and your crucifixes, a sequel to

The Exorcist

is being prepared.

Behind this new project, Blumhouse and Morgan Creek Productions, and it won't be a remake, as the rights-holding company swore in a 2015 post that has been pinned on Twitter ever since. .

After three failed sequels and a prequel, the franchise was treated to a two-season TV series, tied directly to the original film.

In order not to repeat past mistakes, the studios are counting on David Gordon Green, director of

Halloween

(2018), to take control of this sequel.

As reported by The Observer and The Hollywood Reporter, negotiations are underway with the director, who knows Blumhouse well, as he is one of the companies behind the 11th episode of the franchise starring Jamie Lee Curtis .
