[Explanation] On the morning of December 21, the Intermediate People's Court of Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province opened a trial of the defendant Lao Rongzhi in a case of intentional homicide, kidnapping, robbery and other crimes.

　　Nanchang City People’s Procuratorate sent officers to support the public prosecution. The defendant Lao Rongzhi and his defender (and the attached civil litigation agent), the criminal and attached civil plaintiff and his litigation agent attended the court.

　　The Nanchang People’s Procuratorate charged that the defendant Lao Rongzhi was in a relationship with Fa Ziying, who has been dealt with in another case.

Between 1996 and 1999, the two conspired and had a clear division of labor. Lao Rongzhi worked as an attendant in entertainment venues (commonly known as "sitting on the stage") to identify wealthy people as targets for crimes. They were in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Changzhou City in Jiangsu Province and Hefei City in Anhui Province jointly committed crimes of robbery, kidnapping and intentional homicide.

　　After the incident, Lao Rongzhi absconded using pseudonyms such as "Shirley".

On November 28, 2019, Lao Rongzhi was arrested by the public security organs.

　　Relatives of the defendant Lao Rongzhi, media reporters and people from all walks of life attended the observation.

　　Lao Rongzhi's second brother, Lao Shengqiao, said in an interview with reporters after the trial that morning that after seeing his sister Lao Rongzhi during the trial, he thought that Lao Rongzhi was also pitiful and was willing to make compensation together.

　　I feel that Lao Rongzhi feels sorry for my sister. He beats and scolds Fa Ziying every day, suffers from his mental abuse, and is controlled by his family (threats).

Lao Rongzhi's head, she said that she didn't feel good with him, and she was bruised everywhere.

　　[Commentary] Xiong Zhengying, the family member of the victim of the case, Xiong Qiyi, also attended the morning trial.

She told reporters that Xiong Qiyi's parents had passed away three or four years after the incident, and the family had been immersed in grief for many years.

　　We just want criminal suspects to be punished by law.

　　[Explanation] According to media reports, in July 1996, Faziying and Lao Rongzhi killed three businessman Xiong Qiyi's family.

On that day, Lao Rongzhi deceived Xiong Qiyi to his rented house, and Faziying killed him and then dismembered him.

Then, the two came to Xiong's house. After robbing the money, Faziying killed Xiong Qiyi's wife and daughter.

　　On December 22, the case will continue to be heard in Nanchang Intermediate People's Court.
