A few days ago, Zigui County, Hubei Province in the Three Gorges Reservoir area ushered in the long-lost winter sun. Tourists and citizens were playing in the newly built Muyu Island Park and enjoying the warmth of winter.

Muyu Island is a peninsula formed after the impoundment of the Three Gorges Project. It is located between the Yangtze River and the Xujiachong Bay. It is named after it resembles a wooden fish.

The island is adjacent to the Three Gorges Dam and was previously a desert island.

In June 2018, Zigui included Muyu Island in the Three Gorges follow-up planning support project, and upgraded its environmental landscape. The main construction contents are ecological squares, garden roads, greening, lighting, landscape bridges, and Xujiachong Harbor water quality environment improvement projects. After completion, it will be open to the public for free, and now it has become a good place for tourists and local people to relax.
