CAN U20 2021: Cameroon qualified at the expense of the DRC

Cameroon has validated its ticket for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations under 20 following the defeat of the Democratic Republic of the Congo against Congo (2-1), this Saturday, December 19 in Malabo in Equatorial Guinea.

The “Indomitable Lion Cubs” finished first in their group in the UNIFFAC zone (Central Africa) after their draw against the DRC (1-1) and their victory against Congo (3-1).

They seize the 10th qualifying ticket and thus join Mauritania (host country), Gambia, Uganda, Tanzania, Namibia, Mozambique, Ghana, Burkina Faso and the Central African Republic.

The last two qualified for this CAN U20 which will take place from February 14 to March 4, will be known at the end of the playoffs in the North Africa zone.

For its part, the DRC, which was to win with a score greater than 3-1 against its neighbor, will miss its fourth CAN U20 in a row.
