China News Service, December 19 (Zhou Zhuoao) On the 19th, the Lujiazui Reading Association and UrbanNetworkOffice launched a series of city walking activities.

The activity makes the city a museum of architecture, and makes the block a small classroom in the open air, giving citizens a lively city walking course.

The theme of the first walking event was "Reading Shanghai's Modern Architectural Style-Understanding the World Architecture on Wukang Road".

The walking route starts from the Wukang Building and passes through the former Italian Consul General's Residence, Midan Apartment, Wilkinson House, Ke Ling Former Residence, and Lane 100 on Wukang Road.

Ying Yiqiong, who graduated from Tongji University with a major in historical building protection, is the live commentator of this event. She used a professional perspective to clarify the styles of different residential buildings such as Spanish, English, and French, and interpret the urban development process behind the architectural styles. A humanistic story hidden on Wukang Road.

Mr. Wang, who participated in the event, told the China News Network reporter that although he lived in Shanghai in the past, he had never learned about these buildings in Shanghai. “The story of architecture is also the story of Shanghai. Through this event, I can walk into the building and experience Shanghai, understand Shanghai."

According to the person in charge of Zhicheng Network, Zhicheng Network has planned a series of "Architectural City Tour" activities in Shanghai to explore the cultural connotation carried by buildings.

In order to design walking routes that attract citizens of different ages and different backgrounds, the design team of Zhicheng Network will explore the site in advance, and spend a month or two to collect data and research documents, and strive to have a clear theme and interesting story.

As Professor Wu Jiang, the vice president of Tongji University, said: "You can admire a beautiful building, but it may not interact with you. What can interact with you must be a place that accommodates your feelings and memories." To interact with architecture, one must truly enter the architecture, feel the charm of architecture and the city, reflect the historical value of architecture in people's daily life, and let architecture serve as a bridge between history and the present.
