The proportion of days with good urban air in the first November increased by 5.4% year-on-year

  Beijing, December 19 (Reporter Kou Jiangze) The Ministry of Ecology and Environment announced on the 18th the state of surface water and ambient air quality in the country from January to November 2020: among the 1940 national surface water assessment sections, the water quality is good (Class I—III) The proportion of cross-sections was 82.0%, a year-on-year increase of 5.6 percentage points; the proportion of sections inferior to Category V was 0.7%, a year-on-year decrease of 2.1 percentage points.

The proportion of days with good air quality in 337 prefecture-level and above cities across the country was 87.9%, an increase of 5.4 percentage points year-on-year; the PM2.5 concentration was 31 micrograms/m3, a year-on-year decrease of 8.8%.

  From January to November, the proportion of sections with good water quality (Class I to III) in the seven major river basins including the Yangtze River and the Yellow River, as well as the rivers in the northwest, southwest and Zhejiang and Fujian provinces, was 85.7%, an increase of 5.2% year-on-year; 0.2%, a decrease of 2.3 percentage points year-on-year.

  From January to November, the average number of good days in "2+26" cities in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas was 64.3%, an increase of 11.4 percentage points year-on-year.

The proportion of good days in Beijing was 73.1%, a year-on-year increase of 8.7%.

  Among the 168 key cities, the air quality of Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, and Tangshan is relatively poor; the air quality of Haikou, Lhasa, and Zhoushan is relatively good.
